The Young Learners Foundation is donating free books to educators, nonprofits, and youth program leaders serving students in under-resourced communities (for example, Title 1 Schools near Cincinnati, Ohio or Boys & Girls Clubs near Southwest Ohio).
If you work with children or teens in an environment where access to books is limited due to economic barriers, you can request a set of high-quality, age-appropriate books to start/grow your library or provide books for students to take home directly.
What You’ll Receive
A set of books based on your students’ age and needs
Engaging literacy resources and reading challenges to motivate youth to read
Support from our team to receive books in the future, develop new literacy material, and host events to promote youth literacy
More information can be found on our Book Request Form. These requests will be reviewed on a rolling basis (every Sunday evening) with follow ups occurring 1 week after your submission.
Thank you for your request to receive books!
With any questions, contact us at younglearnersfoundation23@gmail.com.
Young Learners Foundation donates books to youth, wherever youth are. For many students, access to high-quality, engaging books is limited by economic barriers. Approximately 32 million children in the USA live in book deserts - geographic areas where access to books and other reading materials is limited, particularly for children. At the same time, 320 million books end up in landfill sites every year.
Thus, we seek to redistribute high-quality books to advance youth literacy in at-risk communities. Your donation of books to us allows us to identify high-need locations and provide high quality books to youth who may not have access to literacy material otherwise.
Your support makes our meaningful work possible. If you have extra, high-quality, gently used books for K-12 readers that you're interested in donating, please see below for more information.
If you live near the Southwest Ohio Region, we can pick up books directly from you!
We are looking to donate diverse selections of age-appropriate books directly to classrooms (K-12).
These books will provide educators with a classroom library, youth with a home library, and young children with books at their day care or community center.
We provide these books to recipients FREE of CHARGE - allowing for accessible literacy growth & skill development for youth.
Whether you’re able to donate 5 books or 200, your support will make a difference.
